The town of TurcianskeTeplice is in the southern part of theTuriec gardenat 518 meters above sea level. The town lies between the Velka Fatra, the Mala Fatra, the Kremnica mountian ranges and Lazy hill which creates a beautiful and scenic area.
The most important natural wonder of Turcianske Teplice is the mineral springs and thermal waters. The springs and town were first mentioned in 1281.

Visitors to the spa use the hot water, which is between 40,7C C and 46,5s C, for medical treatment. Turcianske Teplice has the only spa in Slovakia that treats kidney and urinary ailments. The spa is also famous and successful at treating locomotive disorders for both adults and children. Currently, the spa has an extensive park.

Some important historical sights in town include the Modry Kupel (the Blue Spa) built in the 19th century, the Roman Catholic chapel from 1770, and the birthplace of artist Mikulas Galanda. The oldest historical site is St. Michal Church in TurcianskyMichal built in 1264. Also, there is the memorial home of I.Z. Solnick, a poet and Slovak nationalist. A Roman Catholic church from the end of the 16th century can be found in Dolna Stubna. In Diviaky visitors will discover a Rennaisance manor house built in the second half of the 7th century and Rococo manor house built in the second half of the 8th century.

Turcianske Teplice is the administrative, cultural and social center of the Upper Turec region. Currently, Turcianske Teplice includes the areas of Diviaky, Turciansky Michal and Dolna Stubna. Thanks to the spa, weather conditions, and beautiful natural surroundings the town is an ideal place to relax and have fun. In summer, visitors can enjoy two thermal pools, tennis courts, and hiking and hiking trails. While in winter visitors will be able to enjoy ice skating, downhill skiing at nearby ski areas, and quality cros-country skiing trails. Cultural activities include movies, events at the theater and cultural house, and a town library. The Cultural and Information Agency (KIA) plans the town cultural events.
